|The image on the left, from the files of Marion Mann, shows East Ocklawaha Ave. (now East Silver Springs Blvd.) in the late
1940s/early 1950s looking west from in front of the Ritz Theater (later Florida Theater). Hidden in the trees on the right side
of the image is the home of John D. Robertson, builder of the Robertson Building located on the Northeast corner of NE 1st
Ave. and East Silver Springs Blvd. The Robertson home was demolished in the early 1950s to make way for the construction
of the Commercial Bank and Trust Co. (now SunTrust).
The image on the right, from Google Earth Street View, shows the same area of east Silver Springs Blvd. as it currently
appears. SunTrust Bank can be seen on the near right side of the image. The former Robertson Building with the clock
tower on the roof is visible in the distance.
